Nigerian Air Force Trains Personnel On Accommodation Management Software

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) recently concluded a two-day training workshop for selected officers, airmen/airwomen and civilian staff from all NAF Units, who are custodians of NAF accommodation, on the proper use of a newly updated Accommodation Management Software (AMS).

The NAF AMS, which has been updated from Version 3.0 to 4.0 for better user experience and simplified accommodation management process, provides important statistical information that helps in expeditiously ascertaining accommodation sufficiency, resolving multiple accommodation ownership and determining eligibility for lodging allowances.

It was developed by an indigenous software company, Alarms Engineering Services, in 2015 under the direction of the current Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, when he was the Chief of Administration (COA), Headquarters NAF.

Speaking at the end of the Workshop, which was held at the NAF Officers’ Mess, Bill Clinton Drive, Abuja, the COA, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Kingsley Lar, who was represented by the Director of Administration, AVM Nelson Calmday, reiterated the need for participants to optimize the use of the software so as to achieve the desired objective.

He noted that the NAF was doing its utmost to ensure that all accommodation related challenges in the Service were surmounted to enhance the welfare of personnel and their families.
