Nigerian Army Kick-Boxing Team Wins The 2017 National Open Kick-Boxing Championship

The Nigerian Army Kick-Boxing Team this evening at PortHacourt, Rivers State, emerged the Champions of the 2017 National Open Kick-Boxing Championship held from 27-30 April 2017.

The championship which featured teams from 20 States of the Federation, Armed Services, Para-Military Agencies and 19 Other Kick-Boxing Clubs across the country and beyond, saw the Nigerian Army Team winning 4 Gold Medals to emerge the overall champion of the sports event.

The quartet of Sergeant Onoja Emmanuel, Corporal Ochefu Godwin, Lance Corporal Awoyele Olakunle and Lance Corporal Nurudeen Adebayo won gold medals for the Nigerian Army.

The championship which also featured the King of the Ring Title Fight in the 80kg weight category, saw Corporal Ochefu Godwin of the Nigerian Army winning the Title Belt, which was keenly competed for by other Kick-Boxing competitors from Ghana, Togo, Palestine and Lebanon.

The Chief of Army has personally called and congratulated the team for the unprecedented feat.
