
Nigerian Army Troops Of Operation Fansan Yamma Sustains Relentless Pressure On Terrorists In North West
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), Joint Task Force North West, have continued to demonstrate remarkable responsiveness in coordinated offensives across the Joint Operations Area, maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist elements and recording significant gains during operations carried out between 21 and 22 January 2026.
Troops of 8 Division Garrison Strike Force and DSS assets on fighting patrol engaged terrorists in Gundumi Village, Isa Local Government Area. During the encounter troops neutralised one of the terrorists as other fled into the forest with gunshot wounds. The troops recovered six AK-47 rifles and three motorcycles.
Furthermore, troops from 1 Brigade, alongside Headquarters JTF OPFY Mobile Strike Team, swiftly acted on credible intel that injured terrorists were receiving treatment in Bingi Forest. The troops discovered and destroyed a makeshift medical facility of the terrorists, dealing a significant blow to the terrorists’s support system and showcasing the troops’ effective operational response.
