Nigerian-British Singer Seal Won’t Be Charged After Woman Accused Him of Sexual Assault

According to ABC News, the Nigerian-British singer, whose real name is Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel, was accused by his Los Angeles neighbour who claimed that two years ago, he grabbed her breasts and tried to kiss her after she stopped by his house to retrieve a salad spinner.

The accusation came around the time, last month, when the singer threw shade at Oprah Winfrey following her stirring speech at the Golden Globes.

ABC News says that because of the delay in reporting the alleged incident, plus lack of witnesses and evidence to corroborate the accuser’s claims, the authorities couldn’t prosecute him.

At the time the woman made the accusation in January, the 54-year-old Seal said he intended to “vigorously defend himself against these false allegations.”

“To all of you who have been raped, to all of you who have been sexually abused: I applaud you for coming forward. What you did takes real courage,” he said in a late video shared on his social media, adding, “Please keep coming forward because that’s the only way that we get to solve this thing. We talk about it, we open dialogue, we solve it.”
