The Nigerian military has dismissed claims in a recent video released by the Boko Haram, Islamist sect in which its leader, Abubakar Shekau claimed he was still alive.
Barely a week ago, the military confirmed killing one Muhammed Bashir, who it said has been impersonating the deceased leader of the dreaded Islamist sect, Boko Haram Abubakar Shekau on video. The military had also confirmed at the time that Shekau actually died last year
But in a new video obtained by France news agency, AFP Thursday, the sect leader confirmed he was still alive.
But reacting through its official blog, the military video may have been doctored and the individual who described himself as Abubakar Shekau could possibly be a clone of the Boko Haram leader.
