Nigerian Navy Hands Over 765kg Of Suspected Cannabis To NDLEA, Reaffirms Commitment To Maritime Security

The Nigerian Navy has reinforced its commitment to combating maritime crime with the handover of 18 bags of suspected cannabis sativa, weighing approximately 756 kilograms, by the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Aiwuyor Adams-Aliu, to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation.

The seizure, enabled through intelligence-driven operations coordinated with the Western Regional Control Centre (Falcon Eye), reflects the effectiveness of the Nigerian Navy’s enhanced maritime surveillance and sustained efforts to deny criminal networks the use of Nigeria’s maritime domain as a transit route for illicit drugs.

The handover underscores the Service’s continued commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration, intensifying intelligence-led operations, and advancing the Chief of the Naval Staff’s strategic vision of a technologically driven Navy capable of safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime interests and supporting national security.
