NIPR Deepens Diplomatic Engagement Ahead Of World Public Relations Forum Abuja 2026
Today, Monday, 17th August 2026, I was honoured to attend the Diplomatic Community Engagement on the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026, organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at the Rotunda Hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.
The high-level engagement brought together members of the diplomatic community, public relations professionals and other key stakeholders as part of sustained efforts to deepen international awareness, participation and collaboration towards the successful hosting of WPRF Abuja 2026.
A major highlight of the occasion was the address by the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr Ike Neliaku fnipr, who engaged the diplomatic community on the significance of the forthcoming global gathering and Nigeria’s preparations to host public relations professionals and thought leaders from across the world.
Earlier, the Chairman of the WPRF 2026 National Planning Committee and Director of Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Dr Sulaiman Haruna mnipr, delivered the opening statement, while the Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association (APRA), Dr Omoniyi Ibietan fnipr, also delivered remarks.
The programme further featured the presentation of the WPRF 2026 Theme Song by the Chairman of the Continental Advisory Committee, Prof Emmanuel Dandaura fnipr, goodwill messages by Global Alliance Regional Chairs, as well as perspectives from young professionals, persons with disabilities and gender interest groups.
The interactive session was particularly enriching, with contributions from the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of different continents and other distinguished participants, reflecting the international character of the forthcoming Forum.
It was indeed gratifying to witness the growing momentum towards WPRF Abuja 2026 and the deliberate efforts by NIPR to mobilise the diplomatic community and other critical stakeholders towards making the Forum a truly global, impactful and memorable gathering in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
