NLC Suspends Nationwide Strike
The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, on Sunday suspended the ongoing nationwide strike called to force government to reverse the recent hike in the pump price of petrol.
The union who called a meeting to review the strike it called last Wednesday decided to call off the strike after the meeting in Abuja, Vanguard
The strike has been largely unsuccessful as most state governments capitalised on the court injunction stopping the union from embarking on the strike in the first place.
A rival faction of the NLC led by Joe Ajaero decided to back down from the strike and to engage the government on how to cushion the effects of the scarcity.
