NNS Unity Arrives Port Of Klang In Malaysia, Shows Off Nigerian Flag

The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) UNITY which departed China on 21 September 2016 on her maiden voyage to Nigeria has arrived the Port of Klang in Malaysia, after passing through the waters of the South China Sea. She arrived Port of Klang on 29 September 2016.

On arrival, the man of war was received by Nigeria’s Deputy High Commissioner in Malaysia, Mrs Janet Bissong Odeka, the Representative of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Samuel Paul as well as other senior military officers and embassy officials.

The Commanding Officer of NNS UNITY Captain Abolade Ogunleye was pleased to report that the voyage from China Sea to Malaysia was hitch-free as the typhoon which initially appeared to be a challenge had abated. The Ship will depart Port of Klang Malaysia on Saturday 1 October 2016 in continuation of her homeward journey in which she is expected to berth at the Ports of five (05) countries before reaching Nigeria.

Meanwhile, as part of her diplomatic roles in Malaysia, the Ship received a delegation from the Malaysian Navy headed by the Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy who was represented by Rear Admiral Datto Ahmed bin Abdullahi. The ship will also conduct a Ceremonial Sunset onboard.
