NSA Nuhu Ribadu Meets With US Congressional Delegation To Advance Bilateral Diplomatic Ties and Security Cooperation

Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, head of Nigeria’s team for the US–Nigeria Joint Working Group, met with a U.S. Congressional delegation in Nigeria to advance bilateral diplomatic ties and security cooperation.

The delegation included Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart, Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani, and Riley M. Moore, with U.S. Ambassador Richard Mills present.

Discussions centered on counter-terrorism, regional stability, and enhancing the Nigeria–U.S. strategic partnership, building on Ribadu’s recent Washington engagements with U.S. officials like Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Gen. Dan Caine.

During his U.S. visit last month, Ribadu refuted claims of a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria, highlighted the Tinubu administration’s anti-insecurity efforts, and consulted with key figures across Congress, the White House, State Department, National Security Council, and Department of War. Ribadu expressed optimism that these interactions would foster greater trust and collaboration for peace and security.

Overall, his efforts aim to bolster Nigeria’s global credibility and counter false narratives.
