‘Obasanjo Plotting 3rd term Agenda through Backdoor’ – Oshiomole

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has lambasted former president Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly resuming his third term agenda through the back door.

Oshiomole said this while fielding questions from State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that the former president was recruiting people to actualize his third term agenda which fell flat in 2007.

Asked to comment on the mass defection looming over the APC, Oshiomhole said the question should be referred to the PDP, which, according to him had suffered serious mass defections, Daily Trust writes.

“I think it is something you should ask the PDP. They are the ones who have suffered huge, huge mass defections, even of the so-called founding fathers. I mean, in those good old days, people like Professor Jerry Gana would tell us, ‘we are the founding fathers’. All of these people are gone.”

On Obasanjo, he said: “There is no better proof than that the old man who is going round as an organising secretary recruiting people, looking for tired players to continue with a third term agenda which Nigerians have rejected. By whatever form they come in, Nigerians have spoken.”

Oshiomole remains a fierce critic of Obasanjo who severally imprisoned him during his days as the leader of organised labour.

His third term allegation may however be far-fetched as Obasanjo isn’t running for office.
