The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, alleging that it is a sponsor of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
National chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun at a press conference, said it now knows that the presidency and the PDP are sponsors of the Boko Haram, courtesy Australian Dr. Stephen Davis, a man hired by the President Jonathan-led Government to negotiate with Boko Haram for the release of the Chibok girls.
Dr Davis, had in an interview with international TV Channel Arise TV named former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff and a former Army Chief, Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, as the sponsors of Boko Haram. Odigie-Oyegun had said that even though the federal government had always linked the APC to the insurgency in the northeast, Dr. Stephen Davis, revelation had finally vindicated the APC.The PDP in reacting to the APC ‘s statement, said the APC was only exonerating itself from “blames of promoting the insurgency” and urged it to speak on other issues revealed by the Australian negotiator, Dr. Stephen Davis, on the activities of Boko Haram in the country.
