Photos and Reactions as Shuaibu Amodu is Laid To Rest in Edo State
It’s yet another sad day for Nigerians with news of the passing of legendary coach Shuaibu Amodu barely three days after another legend, Stephen Keshi died following a heart attack.
Amodu, an understated gentleman and patriot, gave up the ghost in his sleep Friday night after complaining of chest pain.
Until his death he was the Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), but he’ll be best remembered for qualifying the Super Eagles to two FIFA World Cups (2002 & 2010) during his four spells with the team.
His untimely death has sent shock-waves across the country and beyond, and as his burial commences in his hometown Okpella in Edo State, football fans, friends, colleagues and the general public have taken to social media to pay tribute to a giant in the Nigerian game.
