Popular Abuja Pastor, Joshua Iginla Donates N5m To Acid Victim And Car To Actor
Popular Abuja-based pastor, Joshua Iginla, known for his philanthropy towards Nollywood is back again, this time bearing gifts of cash and a car.
The clergyman who doled out 32 exotic cars back in May to Nollywood practitioners has extended his generosity to acid attack victim, Jamila Yusuf. He gave her the sum of N5 million, to cover part of the N10 million bill for her reconstructive surgery in India following an attack by her fiance.
Not stopping there, Pastor Joshua Iginla who according to Vanguard made the presentation during service, also gave out a brand new Peugeot 501 to Nollywood actor, Mr Ayo Emmanuel, popularly known as “Nollywood Policeman”.
The man of God encouraged his congregants to give towards Yusuf’s surgery, urging them to use it as an avenue to show love. He also promised to raise the remaining N5 million for Yusuf’s reconstructive surgery if the balance is not raised by next week as he strongly condemned violence against women.
“We are working to get them visa this week to go to India; we will pay every bill. I already have 10,000 U.S. dollars and by next Sunday, I will complete it.
“This is an opportunity to show love to your neighbour because she’s not a Christian; your neighbour must not necessarily come from your religion or ethnic group.”
Touching on the issue of piracy in Nollywood and its effect on the industry, Iginla noted:
“The level of piracy in this country is serious; I hope government will do something about it,” he said.
“These Nollywood actors and actresses are Nigeria’s ambassadors who are projecting the image of the country to the world favourably. Many of them have died prematurely because they are hard working but piracy has crippled them.“
