The State House Twitter handle also tweeted a statement by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, describing the visit to London as precautionary following the advise of his Nigerian doctors.

There have been speculations over the health of the President after he cancelled an official visit to Lagos in May. He also pulled out of a historic visit to kick-off the clean-up of oil pollution in Ogoniland last week.
He was represented at both events by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The announcement that Buhari is ill comes after days of denial by the Presidency that he was nursing any health challenges. In fact, Adesina released a statement on Friday saying the President was “fit as a fiddle.”
