President, VP Pays Tribute to late Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday commiserated with the family of the late former Super Eagles Captain and Coach, Stephen Keshi, and the entire country over his untimely death.
Buhari, in a twitter message, described the late Keshi as a great sportsman, football player and coach.
The twitter message read: “Nigeria today lost a great sportsman, football player, coach and a citizen.

“President Muhammadu Buhari commiserates with the family of late Stephen Keshi, and with the entire country on his untimely passing (away).’’
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had also issued a statement commiserating with the family of the late soccer star who died at the age of 54 years on Wednesday.

Eagles captain and coach Stephen Keshi, and described the incident t as a tragic loss to the nation.
In a statement, Osinbajo said that the late footballer’s rich legacy would continue to live in the hearts of Nigerians.
“His personal triumphs and pursuits as a world-class professional footballer inspired many young talented sportsmen and women around Africa to strive for excellence.
“His great work with our youth and senior national teams unified our country and brought joy to many compatriots.
“His feats within and outside the country are a rich legacy which will continue to live on in our hearts,’’ Osinbajo wrote.
He said that as captain and coach of the national football team, Keshi’s service, dedication and achievements remained a great testament to the value of hard work.
The vice-president, on behalf of the people and Government of Nigeria, commiserated with the family of Keshi.
He said that the thoughts of Nigerians “are with his children at this time of sadness, especially so soon after the loss of their mother.
“We send our deepest condolences to them and also to the countless friends he made in a lifetime of service.
“We pray that God grants the family the fortitude to bear the loss.’
