Presidential Aide Attacks Innoson Motors On Twitter

Yesterday, Mr Joe Abah, the Director-General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, took to Twitter to inform car maker Innoson Motors of the troubles his IVM SUV is currently having.

Sadly, after 2 & half years, the @innosonmotors jeep has started giving wahala. Overheating last week. Now gearbox,” Abah said.

Not long after, the company replied his tweet, implying that he was laying complaints through the ‘wrong’ channel.

Good day @DrJoeAbah, we are indeed sorry abt the probs ure facing wt d SUV, Pls do contact us thru the right channel,” Innoson said, and then provided the numbers to call, and also an email address.

This exchange sparked a debate on social media, with people wondering if the Presidential Aide was trying to kill the company’s image?

For some, Innoson Motors’ reply smacks of arrogance; a customer has the right to lay complaints through any channel.

And those who feel Abah’s complaint would discourage potential buyers from patronising the company.

However, Abah revealed that he had mentioned “how brilliant the car is”.

Sadly my first complaint will soon become an APC/PDP thing. SMH!” He said, adding, “Some people just delight in bad news. The @innosonmotorswill be fixed. 2&half yrs not bad for a first attempt.”

Recently, there were claims that the top automobile company closed shop due to an inability to secure funds to buy materials needed for vehicle production, but the company’s management released a statement, shutting down that claim. However, it admitted to it is facing challenges in securing funds at the forex market which in turn slowed down production.
