Rapper Rich Homie Quan Arrested for Suspected Possession of Guns and Drugs

Yet another hip hop act has been arrested and thrown into jail, this time it is rapper Rich Homie Quan who was nabbed yesterday on his way to a concert.

According to TMZ, Rich Homie Quan and five other men were arrested on his way to a show in Georgia. The rapper’s car was reportedly stopped at a police checkpoint and they were later taken to jail following suspicion that they were in possession of a stolen gun and drugs which were alleged to be marijuana and ecstasy.

Rich Homie Quan never made it to his gig in Georgia this weekend because he was arrested and detained by cops on the way over … TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us … RHQ and his crew were stopped at a police checkpoint Saturday night en route to Club Liquids in Wadley, GA, where he and 5 guys were arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen gun and drugs. Cops say they believe the drugs to be ecstasy and weed.

Quan is in Jefferson County Jail as of Sunday afternoon, but has not been charged yet. Police there can detain someone without charging them for up to 48 hours.

We’re told it’s unclear at this point if he will be charged, as an investigation is ongoing. One thing is clear though … no speed boat “escapes” for RHQ this time around.

As at Sunday, the ‘Heart Cold’ rapper was still detained in Jefferson County Jail. TMZ adds that the police in Georgia can hold persons for more than 48 hours without charging them.

This news comes only weeks after the rapper Kevin Gates was sentenced to 30 months in jail for a weapon-related charge, and also, Kodak Black was returned to jail following probation violation.

Rich Homie Quan was still being held as at press time.
