Suspected Militants Attack Another SPDC Trunk Line in Delta

Vanguard reports that suspected militants attacked Trans-Ramos, a major crude oil exports trunk line close to Odimodi community in Delta State yesterday.

Reports say Trans-Ramo belongs to Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC. According to a community resident, the incident occurred at 1a.m yesterday.

There had reportedly been a huge fireball from explosions at the trunk line and the intensity of the blast had rocked several apartments in the area.

After a while, a group from the community in company of SPDC’s surveillance team was able to locate the site of the blast.

The attack is coming ten days after some suspected militants attempted to excavate a spot to be exploded on the trunk line in the same community. The suspected militants had reportedly tied up two hunters before fleeing after the Odimodi community vigilante was alerted. They left behind dynamites, cables and a shovel.

Just last month, a Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) facility was vandalised by suspected militants around Batan in Warri Southwest Local Government Area of Delta State.
