This Herders/Farmers Clash Will Consume Nigeria As A Nation – Tunde Ajibulu
How did it get to this??? When did it get to this??? Why did it get to this??? Remains the questions Tunde Ajibulu an APC chieftain continues to ask the present government of Nigeria.
I have defended this government on tv, in newspapers, to friends and family.
I have been booed and jeered and snickered at by friends and associates, called a psychophant, a political jobber and all sorts, but it did not matter because i had deep belief and conviction that this was the best government for Nigeria at this time.
I also advised the government in the newspapers as well as boko haram was the albatross of the last government.
At this point I state categorically that if this burning issue is not systematically decimated right now, this herdsmen/farmers conflict will be the conflagration that will consume not only this government and if care is not taken Nigeria as a nation.
We are heading towards the precipice. It is obvious the present security machinery for the protection of the citizens of this country is overwhelmed and ran out of ideas a while ago to the detriment of Nigerian citizens.
It is time for the president to do what he has been dragging his feet over which is a total and comprehensive overhaul of every component of the Nigerian security apparatus starting from the minister of defence who’s utterances to the press on this issue has been partisan and insensate at best.
Cows can never ever equate to human lives!!!! It is time for fresh minds and new ideas.
The sad security situation in Nigeria has been static for too long. This is just not acceptable. There’s a saying in yoruba land literarily translated says “i will not call a cow sir just because i want to eat meat”.
May the almighty God grant the souls of the innocent victims of this brutal and senseless carnage eternal rest.
my condolences to the good people of plateau state.
May God console and strenghten you in this trying period of your history.
