Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army Doctrinal Assessment Team Visits Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management

‎As part of its efforts to assess the level of Nigerian Army (NA) Training Institutions adherence to NA Doctrine in order to further enhance training in the NA, the Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) Doctrinal Assessment Team has visited the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) on Wednesday 20 August 2026 to assess the level of the College’s compliance in streamlining its training curriculum in line with the NA Doctrine.

‎The Doctrinal Assessment Team was led by the Director, Army Training and Support Centre TRADOC NA, Major General Mohammed Babayo.

The Team Leader during his remarks appreciated the Commandant NACOLM Major General Adewale Collins Adetoba for his leadership and proactive measures aimed at ensuring academic and operational excellence in preparing officers for future logistics, staff and leadership level appointments.

He also pointed out that, the Doctrinal Assessment Team visit was not a fault finding mission but rather to assess the level of doctrinal compliance, identity gaps and area of improvement for the development of the NA. He further added that part of the end state of the visit was also to identify challenges that may require Appropriate Superior Authority’s intervention for better service delivery.

‎Speaking during the visit, the Commandant NACOLM who was represented by the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies Brigadier General Slyvester Anyogo expressed gratitude to the team and TRADOC NA for the visit which he said would further ensure the successful implementation of the NA Doctrine. He added that, the College training is dynamic in nature; as the NA currently emphasize more on asymmetric operations, the College has also enhanced its curriculum to incorporate areas that would improve the students ability to function and effectively deal with such asymmetric operational logistics and leadership challenges in the field.

‎Earlier, the Assessment Team were also given a brief on the College activities by the Staff Officer Grade One, Training in the College’s Ojo Campus Lieutenant Colonel Peter Onyema. The brief highlighted NACOLM level of compliance with the NA Doctrine 2022 and also highlighted the courses run in the College which include the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) designed for Captains and Majors as well as Logistics Management Course (LMC) designed for Majors and Lieutenant Colonels. Others are Senior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course (SLSOC) and the Junior Leadership and Staff Officers’ Course (JLSOC) which were also designed for Direct Regular Combatant (DRC) officers from the rank of Majors and Captains respectively. He added that the logistics based courses are open to participation from officers from sister services and Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

‎Highlights of the visit were tour of the College facilities and presentation of souvenir to the team leader.
