It’s generally advised that we keep our words soft, just in case we have to take them back. Spanish football giants Barcelona couldn’t care less and now they’re already paying the price for it.
Last season’s treble winners crashed to a third consecutive La Liga loss on Sunday night, their fourth in five games to firmly place both Atletico and Real Madrid back in the title race, having been knocked out of the Champions League by the former last week.
The collapse of the Catalan giants has taken the football world by storm, but no one must be more alarmed by the turn of events than Barca’s social media team, who proudly claimed the club had the easier title run-in as the season approached homestretch.

The arrogant tweet did not go down well with fans seven days ago and is now attracting further attention following another Liga defeat at the Camp Nou to crisis-ridden Valencia.
It is the worst run of form in 12 and half years for the Blaugrana and where there was talk of an extraordinary second treble for Luis Enrique and his troops, it is now very likely they may end the season empty handed.
