The Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has expressed his gratitude to the Government of the United Kingdom for the continued support in the fight to eradicate corruption and all forms of economic and financial crimes from Nigeria.
Magu said this through the Head of Digital Forensic Unit, EFCC, Nuhu Buhari on Monday 20th November, 2017 at the EFCC Academy, Karu, Abuja at the commencement of a 3-day training for operatives of the EFCC by the National Crime Agency, United Kingdom.
The training which is being conducted by David Alexander Cock, Head, Digital Forensics, National Crime Agency, is to adequately prepare and develop the capacity of officers of the Commission on the use of NIUX Software donated to the EFCC in August, 2017 by the UK government.
Speaking on the Niux software, server and its workstation, Buhari explained that it is an advanced technology designed for use in the processing of suspects computers and mobile phones during investigation.
“This will enhance the capacity of investigation procedure by reducing the turn-around time spent on processing computers and mobile equipments from two months to two weeks” he added.
Buhari who is the training coordinator, also said that there are plans to deploy the machines in the permanent head office building of the EFCC and all the Zonal Offices of the Commission.
