Vice Chancellor Edo State University Pays Courtesy Visit To NASEME Commandant, Seeks Stronger Ties and Improved Partnership

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering existing partnerships and uncovering fresh avenues for collaborative learning, the Vice Chancellor Edo State University, Professor Victor Adetimirin paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME), Brigadier General Chima Ekeator, today, 27 August, 2025 to discuss potential areas of collaboration in research and development, technological innovations and accreditation of NASEME courses.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice Chancellor expressed optimism about the potential for collaboration between Edo State University and NASEME. He further stated that “we believe that by combining our academic expertise with NASEME’s technical resources and practical training capabilities, we can create a dynamic learning environment for our students and drive significant advancements in research and development, ultimately contributing to the progress of our region and our nation at large”.

In his remarks, Brig Gen Ekeator reaffirmed NASEME’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with the university, particularly in engineering studies and academic program certification, particularly the accreditation of NASEME courses. He emphasized the availability of NASEME’s cutting-edge Mechatronic Laboratory to Edo State University staff, students, and researchers, extending a valuable resource to the academic community.

Following the meeting, the visiting team was given a comprehensive tour of NASEME’s facilities, providing them with a firsthand look at the school’s resources and capabilities. The tour further highlighted the potential for collaboration in practical training and research projects.

The groundwork for this visit was laid by Brigadier General Ekeator, who initiated the dialogue with a visit to Edo State University yesterday, 26 August 2025. The VC’s reciprocal visit to NASEME highlights both institutions’ dedication to turning those initial discussions into tangible collaborative projects.
