‘We All Deserve Second Chances’- Mo Abudu On Banned Actress Rahama Sadau

Actress, Rahama Sadau has kicked off her journey into Nollywood just a few days after addressing her ban from Kannywood.

In case you missed the story, Miss Sadau was banned from the Hausa film industry (Kannywood) last week following her appearance in a music video by ClassiQ. The Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN), who placed the ban on the actress, sighted ‘immorality’ as the reason for her expulsion.

Since then, many Nigerians have taken to social media to defend Rahama while a number of Nollywood producers expressed interest in featuring her in their movies. And it looks like top media personality and CEO of EbonyLife TV Mo Abudu has already set the ball rolling.

According to Vanguard, Rahama has been given a role in a 13-part drama series on EbonyLife titled Sons of the Caliphate. The series, which is set to air its first episode on October 13, focuses on the rich, cultural and flamboyant aristocratic lifestyle of Northern Nigerian.

Speaking on Rahama’s ban and casting her for Sons of the Caliphate, Mo Abudu had this to say:

We at EbonyLife TV stand with Rahama Sadau and remain proud of the work she has done thus far. We believe that nobody is above mistake and we all deserve second chances. We certainly hope that the ban is revoked so that Rahama can continue her career and blossom to her full potential.”

Rahama is taking on the role of Binta Kutigi, a confident, intelligent, witty and composed Northern lady who is stylish, elegant and yet traditional. She will be acting alongside Nollywood stars such as Patrick Doyle, Mofe Duncan and Sani Muazu.

Talk about a very silver lining in a dark cloud!
