We Will Continue To Synergise To Achieve Operation Hadin Kai Mandate — Gen Shaibu Assures NIS

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maj Gen W Shaibu has assured the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), that the military will continue to synergise with the Service and other sister security agencies in the NE, to achieve the mandate of OPHK. He gave the assurance when he received the Zonal Coordinator NIS Zone C, ACG Sunday James and his team at the Headquarters Theatre Command Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri, today 15 March 2024.

Gen Waidi said, one of the mandates of OPHK was to return normalcy in the NE, as well as facilitate socio-economic activities in the region. He noted that recent opening of the border between Nigeria and Niger, would enhance socio-economic activities, while also emphasising the need for the NIS personnel who are key stakeholders at the border, to remain at alert to thwart any act that could jeopardise security.

Speaking further, the Theatre Commamder averred that relative peace has returned to the NE and that the government was doing its best to ensure the Internally Displaced Persons, were safely returned to their ancestral homes. This he said, could only be achieved by more collaboration among the security agencies. He congratulated the ACG on his appointment and pledged more partnership for peace in the NE and the nation at large.

Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator ACG Sunday James said, he was on operational visit to Maiduguri one of his of Areas of Responsibilities, hence the courtesy visit to the Theatre Commander. He appreciated the military for the job it is doing in the NE and commended the Theatre Commander for his leadership, as well as the troops of OPHK for remaining steadfast at thier duty posts.

ACG James used the medium to inform the Theatre Commander of the forthcoming NE Border security engagement, which he said the military would be deeply involved in.

High points of the visit were; the signing of visitor’s book, presentation of memento and group photograph.
