‘My Wife Dreamt I was Killed’- Basketmouth Talks Robbery Incident, Trump and More in New Interview
In a new interview with fashion & lifestyle blogger Ono Bello, Basketmouth finally opened up about the robbery incident that took place in his home last year.
Basket, real name Bright Okpocha, revealed that prior to the night of the robbery, his wife had dreamt that he was killed.
“I tried to grab the gun of one of the robbers but all I could think about was my kids. At that point, my wife’s dream didn’t come to mind until later.”
On a lighter note, the funny man talked about the inspiration behind his viral Queen of England skit while criticising some blogs for reporting the news as real.
“It just shows our Nigerian press is not doing a good job, I am not even a British citizen!” he said.
Basketmouth also admitted that he almost employed a ghostwriter at some point to pen his jokes when his workload became too heavy but refrained from doing so.
“I was under a lot of pressure because I just started expanding my events company. I stopped writing new materials because I was focusing on my events company” the father of two stated.
Who knew Basket ran an events company?
Speaking on the Trump administration and Nigerians living in America who are afraid of the travel ban, the 38-year-old comedian had this to say. “Do you guys (Nigerians) have to go to America? There is Canada, Europe.”
Basketmouth, who will be going on a comedy tour with close friend and colleague Bovi in July, is currently promoting his new sitcom, My Flatmates.
