Brace Up For More Work, Magu charges EFCC Staff
The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has challenged staff of the Commission to be prepared for more work and bigger task ahead.
The EFCC boss gave the charge in Ibadan on Saturday, December 14, 2019, while presenting awards to outstanding staff of the Commission’s Ibadan zonal office.
Magu, who was represented by the Ibadan zonal head, Friday Ebelo, said the task ahead of the anti-graft agency requires more commitment and higher level of dedication from its staff.
“There are greater task and more work ahead. As you know, the reward for hard work is more work. “You need to be more hardworking and more dedicated in order to play your own quota in our collective goal to effectively deliver on our mandate to rid our country of economic and financial crimes,” he submitted.
The zone held a get-together for its staff to round-off activities for the year.
Some of the staff were presented with award of outstanding performance in recognition of their sterling contribution to the success of the zone in the year 2019.
The zonal head at a press conference held earlier in the week to kick-off a road-walk in commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day had put the figure of convictions secured in the zone within the last 12 months at 171.
He also disclosed that the zone was able to confiscate from fraudsters huge sums of money in local and foreign currencies to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
