A fresh attack on Monday morning near the Finsbury Park mosque in London has led to the death of one man and left at least 8 others injured.

A van ploughed into a crowd of Muslim faithfuls as they rounded off their prayers at the Finsbury Park mosque on Seven Sisters Road, according to the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB).

The attack comes on the heels of similarly worrying attacks in London and a fire disaster at the Grenfell Tower.

British police state that they have arrested a 48-year-old man while Prime Minister Theresa May has said police were treating it “as a potential terrorist attack”.

An eyewitness, Abdul Rahman told newsmen that he struck one of the attackers and helped subdue him.

When the guy came out from his van he wanted to escape, run away and he was saying ‘I want to kill Muslims. ‘I want to kill Muslims.’

“I hit him on his stomach… and then me and the other guys… we held him to the ground until he couldn’t move. We stopped him until the police came.

BBC reports that counter-terrorism officers remain at the scene of the Finsbury attack.
