1 Division Nigerian Army Reiterate It’s Commitment Towards Rendering Selfless Service To It’s Host Community

The General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch Maj Gen BA Alabi has reiterated the commitment of 1 Division Nigerian Army(NA) towards rendering selfless service to its host community. The GOC who was represented by the Commander 51 Brigade Signals Brig Gen UG Ogeleka gave the assurance at a medical outreach organised at LEA Primary School Kawo, Kaduna in commomeration of Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2023.

The GOC pointed out that the medical outreach was part of civil-military activities aimed at strengthening the cordial relationship between the Division and its host community. He noted that the outreach would afford beneficiaries the opportunity to access appropriate health education, counselling and treatment of some illnesses. In his words “As you settle down for this important event, i urge you to utilize this golden opportunity and be honest while interacting with our well trained medical personnel in order to get the best out of what they can offer” He said .

He used the opportunity to solicit for the support and cooperation of the good people of Kawo community in the area of credible and timely intelligence/ information to assist the NA in its operation against all criminal elements.

In his remarks, the Danmakwayan Zazzau and District Head of Kawo, Alhaji Jibril Muhammadu Sani expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for its commitment and selfless service towards improving the health and living standard of Kawo residents. He noted that the gesture would go a long way towards putting smiles and instilling hope on the people.

Services rendered during the medical outreach include medical consultations, HIV screening, dental care services, eye care services, free drugs and eye glasses as well as counselling among others.

Highpoint of the event were distribution of NADCEL crested exercise books to over 200 students of Secondary and Primary schools in Kawo, health talk on the dangers of drug abuse, distribution of soft drinks, snacks and group photograph.
