2 US Baseball Stars Die in Separate Car Crashes in the Dominican Republic
Photos from the horror crashes that killed two Major League Baseball stars in the Dominican Republic same day, within hours of each other, have surfaced.
According to Sky News, 25-year-old Yordano Ventura, died on a road near the town of Juan Adrian which is about 40 miles northwest of the capital Santo Domingo. Ventura played for the Kansas City Royals, that won the World Series title in 2015.
While former infielder, 33-year-old Andy Marte was killed in a different crash about 95 miles north of the capital, near the town of Pimentel. Marte formerly was a third baseman for top teams in the United States which include, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians and Arizona Diamondbacks. Until his death, he was playing in the South Korean League.
Americans are still expressing shock and disbelief at the news, with many still trying to wrap their minds around the coincidence that snatched two top baseball stars on the same day, in the same country.
