DG NIPSS Commends GOC 3 Division’s Commitment To Peace and Security In Plateau State
The Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, at the GOC’s Conference Room, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.
The visit served as an avenue to strengthen the longstanding relationship between NIPSS and the Nigerian Armed Forces while reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting peace, security and national development.
Speaking during the visit, the Director General extolled the GOC for his unwavering commitment and exemplary leadership in ensuring the maintenance of peace and security across Plateau State. He noted that the sustained efforts of 3 Division Nigerian Army under the leadership of Major General Oyinlola has continued to contribute significantly to the stability enjoyed in the state.
The DG also expressed appreciation for the cordial and productive relationship existing between NIPSS and the Armed Forces of Nigeria, describing it as vital to the realization of the Institute’s mandate and the advancement of national security objectives. He further commiserated with the officers and soldiers of 3 Division over the recent loss of personnel during an attack on the Institution while commending the swift response of the Division which brought the situation under control and prevented anyone from being abducted.
In his remarks, Major General Oyinlola thanked the Director General for the visit and for his kind words, regarding the Division’s efforts in maintaining peace and security within its area of responsibility. The GOC reiterated the Division’s commitment to providing adequate security support to NIPSS and assured the Director General of the Nigerian Army’s readiness to assist the institution whenever required.
He emphasized that the security and protection of critical national institutions remain a priority and assured NIPSS of continued collaboration in pursuit of shared national objectives. The GOC also expressed appreciation to the Director General for finding time to visit the Division despite his demanding schedule.
