Acting Commander Sector 4 OPHK Assures Federal Character Commission Of Equity Justice and Fairness

The Acting Commander Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai/Commander 23 Brigade ( Ag Comd Sect 4 OPHK/Comd 23 Bde) Brigadier General Amechi Agwu has assured the Federal Character Commission of equity, justice and fairness in the ongoing recruitment exercise at Gibson Jalo Cantonment, Yola.

Brigadier General Agwu gave the assurance during the courtesy visit by the Honourable Commissioner representing Adamawa State in the Board of the Federal Character Commission, Chief Bema Madayi on Monday 22 June 2026 to Headquarters 23 Brigade.

The Ag Comd Sect 4 OPHK/Comd 23 Bde emphasized that the Nigerian Army is established and known for equity, justice and fairness, saying these attributes can never fall short in the activities of the Sector/Brigade and in particular during the recruitment exercise.

Brigadier General Agwu added that all local government areas in Adamawa State would be given equal opportunities, noting that the set standard of the Nigerian Army on medicals and other criteria would not be compromised.

The Ag Comd Sect 4 OPHK/ Comd 23 Bde thanked the Honourable Commissioner for finding time to visit the Headquarters 23 Brigade, describing the visit as first of its kind in recent times.

In her remarks, the Honourable Commissioner representing Adamawa State in the Board of the Federal Character Commission, Chief Bema Madayi commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering commitment to the defense of the country and maintenance of peace and security across the country.

Chief Madayi further acknowledged the sacrifices and critical roles played by the Nigerian Army in preserving the unity , stability and sovereignty of our dear nation. She eulogized the efforts of the Nigerian Army on the ongoing recruitment exercise in Yola, saying the Commission would continue to strengthen the cooperation and collaboration with the Nigerian Army.

Chief Madayi added that her visit was in fulfillment of her responsibility as the Federal Commissioner representing Adamawa State to observe the recruitment exercise and ensure that exercise is conducted in line with the principles of equity, fairness and justice, which she described as the mandate of the Commission.

The Honourable Commissioner however expressed her appreciation to the leadership of the Sector/Brigade for the warm reception accorded her and members of her entourage.

Highlights of the visit include signing of the visitor’s book and taking of group photograph to mark the end of the visit.
