The Chief Of Army Staff Male and Female Volleyball Teams Emerge Second Overall At The 2026 Nigeria Volleyball Federation Premier League

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Male and Female Volleyball Teams delivered outstanding performances during the First Phase of the 2026 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Premier League, reaffirming the Nigerian Army’s position as one of the nation’s leading forces in volleyball.

The COAS Male Volleyball Team concluded the first phase in second place after an impressive campaign, recording 10 victories and 2 defeats from 12 matches. The team amassed 29 points, winning 31 sets while conceding 12, to achieve an impressive set ratio of 2.58. Their consistency, tactical discipline, and resilience enabled them to finish ahead of several formidable teams, including CNS and NSCDC, with only the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), which maintained a perfect record of 12 wins from 12 matches, finishing above them.

Similarly, the COAS Female Volleyball Team produced an exceptional performance, also finishing second on the league table. The team recorded 11 wins and just one loss from 12 matches, accumulating 33 points. They won 35 sets and lost only 7, resulting in an outstanding set ratio of 5.00. Although they matched league leaders Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) with an identical record of 11 wins and 1 defeat, the team finished just one point behind the leaders, highlighting the highly competitive nature of the tournament. The impressive performances of both teams underscore the Nigerian Army’s sustained investment in sports development, quality coaching, and the commitment of its athletes. Their achievements reflect the discipline, teamwork, technical excellence, and fighting spirit that continue to define the Nigerian Army on the national sporting stage.
