Acting Director Army Public Relations Decorates Newly Promoted Officer

The Acting Director, Director Army Public Relations (DAPR), Colonel Apollonia Anele, on Thursday, 16 April 2026, decorated Major Saleh Buba with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the Headquarters, Directorate of Army Public Relations, Abuja.

In her remarks, Colonel Anele congratulated the officer and commended his exemplary dedication to duty. She charged him to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism and loyalty to the Nigerian Army, stressing that his elevation signifies not only recognition of past performance but a call to greater responsibility, heightened expectations and more complex operational and leadership demands.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, described the promotion as a reward for hard work, discipline and distinguished service. He encouraged the newly promoted officer to sustain the core values and standards of the Nigerian Army.

In his vote of thanks, Lieutenant Colonel Saleh Buba expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the elevation. He also thanked the Acting Director Army Public Relations for her guidance and visionary leadership and pledged continued loyalty and dedication to duty.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers, soldiers, family members and invited guests.
