Borno State Government Reaffirms Commitment To Public Safety, Warns Against Reckless Driving
The Borno State Government has received with deep concern the recent incidents of reckless driving involving Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) vehicles in different locations, including cases that resulted in the unfortunate loss of lives of residents, commuters, and even CJTF personnel following ghastly road collisions. The government views these incidents with utmost seriousness and reiterates its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
Government is working closely with relevant agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Ministry of Transport and Energy, and the Borno State Traffic Management Agency (BOTMA), to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules and regulations by all road users, including CJTF members.
The government commiserates with the families of all victims affected by these unfortunate incidents and prays that Almighty Allah forgives the souls of the departed and grants them Aljannah Firdaus.
The BOSG wishes to assure residents that necessary measures have been put in place to forestall future occurrences and strengthen enforcement of road safety regulations across the state.
While the government acknowledges the sacrifices and contributions of the CJTF in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations and law enforcement efforts, it will not fold its arms and watch innocent lives being lost through reckless driving. Consequently, any CJTF member found engaging in reckless driving will be dealt with accordingly.
