Brigadier General Adeleye Lawal Assumes Command As Acting Commander Sector IV Operation Hadin Kai

The recently appointed Acting Commander, Sector IV, Operation HADIN KAI, Brigadier General Adeleye Lawal, has assumed command as the second Acting Commander of the Sector in the chronicle of command, during a colourful ceremony held on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.

The handing and taking-over ceremony took place at the Headquarters, Sector IV, Operation HADIN KAI, Mubi, Adamawa State.

In his remarks, the Acting Commander, Brigadier General Lawal, commended the outgoing Acting Commander for laying a solid foundation for the Sector, describing the pivotal role of the pioneer Acting Commander as a technically demanding responsibility.

The Acting Commander promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor and provide the needed leadership to the Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and their troops.

Brigadier General Lawal charged officers of the Sector to double their efforts to maximise the operational gains recorded in their various Areas of Responsibility.

Brigadier General Adeleye Lawal is a member of the 44 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

Prior to his appointment as Acting Commander, Sector IV, Operation HADIN KAI, he served as Deputy Director, Strategy, at the Defence Department of Policy and Plans, Defence Headquarters.

In his valedictory address, the outgoing Acting Commander, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, thanked the Brigade Commander, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers and troops for their commitment and dedication to duty.

He emphasised that the achievements recorded during his tenure were a result of their support and commitment.

The outgoing Acting Commander urged all officers to replicate their support, in double measure, for the new Acting Commander in order to sustain the current operational tempo of the Sector.

Brigadier General Agwu used the occasion to wish his successor, whom he described as a seasoned and versatile General, a successful tour of duty.

Highlights of the handing and taking-over ceremony included the signing of handing and taking-over notes, the presentation of the Command Flag to the Acting Commander, Quarter Guard drills, and handshakes between the outgoing Acting Commander and senior officers and officers at the occasion.
