Commandant AWCN Leads Participants Of Course 7/2023 To Sector 1 Operation Hadin Kai

The participants of Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Course 7/2023 had embarked on a three-day operational theater visit with the primary aim of enhancing their understanding of military operations in the general area. This would give them the opportunity to gain insights into the complexities of military operations within the region.

The visit, which was led by Major General Ishaya Maina, the Commandant of AWCN, offered valuable first-hand experience of the challenges and strategies employed by the Nigerian military in the ongoing fight against insurgency.

The team was warmly received by Major General PP Malla, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, and the Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK). The participants were given a detailed briefing on the current security situation in the region and the efforts being made to counter-insurgency.

It would be recalled that the participants of AWCN Course 7/2023 were divided into two teams for the visit. Team 1, led by Major General Ishaya Maina, focused on Operation HADIN KAI, while Team 2, led by Brigadier General Aminu Umar, the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies at AWCN, visited Operation HADARIN DAJI.

Major General Ishaya Maina expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the willingness of the military to share their experiences and expertise. He emphasized the importance of such visits in enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of future military leaders.

“This operational theater visit has provided our participants with a unique opportunity to witness the dedication and sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform,” Major General Maina stated. “It is crucial for our future military leaders to understand the challenges on the ground and the strategies employed to address them.”

Highlights of the event were the presentation of plaques and a group photograph.
