Commander Corps of Supply and Transport Drives Nigerian Army Jointness and Strategic Collaboration Engagements In Lagos

In line with the strategic drive of the Nigerian Army to enhance jointness, interoperability, and inter-agency collaboration in support of national security objectives, the Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, conducted a series of operational and strategic courtesy visits to key military formations and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Lagos between 5 and 13 May 2026.

The engagements, which covered the Naval Doctrine Command (NAVDOC), Headquarters Nigerian Army Engineers (HQ NAE), FAAN Ikeja, Headquarters Nigerian Army Band Corps (NABC), Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM), and Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Logistics Command (NAF LC), were aimed at strengthening institutional partnerships, enhancing logistics cooperation, and fostering unified operational synergy among the Services and relevant civil aviation stakeholders.

The visits commenced at NAVDOC on 5 May 2026, where the CCST was received by the Chief Staff Officer, Rear Admiral DOC Igbo, and later by the Flag Officer Commanding NAVDOC, Rear Admiral BK Effiong. On the same day, he visited Headquarters Nigerian Army Engineers and was hosted by the Corps Commander Engineers, Major General ST Shafaru, before proceeding to FAAN Ikeja, where he paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, at MMA2 Ikeja. Other visits included Headquarters Nigerian Army Band Corps on 6 May 2026, Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management on 8 May 2026, and Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Logistics Command on 13 May 2026, where he was received by the Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice Marshal AA Sule.

Speaking during the engagements, Major General Shagaya emphasized that the visits were consistent with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy of transforming the Nigerian Army into a highly professional, combat-ready, and mission-oriented force capable of operating effectively within a joint and multi-agency environment. He further highlighted the critical role of integrated logistics, capacity development, and institutional cooperation in addressing contemporary security challenges and achieving enduring national security outcomes. The CCST also encouraged host formations and institutions to leverage the training capabilities of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport, particularly in driving and catering, towards enhancing personnel proficiency and operational effectiveness.

In their separate remarks, the host commanders and senior officials commended the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining robust collaboration with the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport in the areas of logistics support, professional training, and operational cooperation, in furtherance of collective efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s national security architecture.
