GOC 1 Division Organises Befitting Send-Off Ceremony For Posted Out Senior Officers

The General Officer Commanding(GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army(NA) and Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Maj Gen MLD Saraso has organised a befitting send-off ceremony in honour of posted out senior officers of the Division on 2 May 2024 at the Division Headquarters, Kawo, Kaduna.

Speaking at the event, the GOC congratulated all the posted out senior officers for their dedication to duty and selfless service to the Division and Nigerian Army adding that the send-off ceremony is a routine that is appropriate and customary for the military to observe. He charged them to remain good ambassadors of the Division and as well leave their lines open at all times so as for their predecessors to tap from their wealth of experiences and institutional memory.

The posted out senior officers are the immediate Past Chief of Staff Brig Gen MK Gara, Commander 1 Division Provost Group, Brig Gen AH Ibrahim, the former Deputy Chief of Staff Administration who is currently on course at the National Defence College, Colonel AC Unoagu and the outgoing Commander 1 Division Band Lt Col AO Edojah.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the posted out senior officers, the immediate past Chief of Staff Brig Gen MK Gara on behalf of the posted out senior officers thanked the Almighty God for good health and successful tour of duty in 1 Division. He appreciated General Officer Commanding for his strategic guidance and leadership style. He equally thanked all formation Commanders and Principal Staff Officers for their support and cooperation and charged them to extend the same to their predecessor.

Highlights of the event were parting words to the posted out senior officers, presentation of parting gifts and group photographs.
