Gov. Zulum Pledges Continued Support To Security Agencies In Borno, Affirms Security Of Lives and Property, As Topmost Priority

In his resolute commitment towards effective collaboration and partnership among security agencies in Borno State, His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has pledged to continuesly support all security agencies in the state with a view to ending the insurgency and stemming criminality in the State.

This assertion was made by the Hon. Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Prof. Usman Alhaji Tar, during a ministerial courtesy call on the Department of Security Services (DSS), Borno State Office.

Prof. Tar said, “Our dear Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, is always ready to support security agencies in the state. He did it, he is still doing it and will continue to do so for peace to reign in Borno State and Nigeria at large.”

While responding, the Director of DSS Borno State, Mamman Mannir Murtala, extolled the leadership virtues and unwavering commitment of Governor Zulum towards the security of lives and property in the state.

Murtala also affirmed the choice of the Ministry’s new nomenclature and expanded mandate to include “Internal Security”, and pledged the full support of the DSS to realise the Ministry’s mandate. The DSS boss also described the appointment of Prof. Tar as Commissioner of Information and Internal Security as unprecedented. He said, “for those of us in the security sector, the name TAR resonates in our minds. We often do hear about him than to see him.”

The Hon. Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministerial Secretary, Directors in the ministry and Heads of Agencies under the supervision of the Ministry.
