Nigeria under-23 coach at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Samson Siasia has disclosed that John Obi Mikel has his mind made up to leave Chelsea even before he joined the bronze medal winning team.

Mikel has been frozen out by Antonio Conte after  10 years of regular football with the Blues. The Super Eagles captain has been linked to several clubs in Europe and China.

“He is ready to quit Chelsea because he said this man (Antonio Conte) does not have anything for him and that was what he told me before he came down to the Olympics,” Siasia said.

“That was why they bought (N’Gola) Kante,’ he added.

“It will be better for him to leave now because he has done very well after 11 years at Chelsea, not even Didier Drogba lasted that long there.

“He already has a British passport and two girls, he has done very well and will now leave.’

Mikel, has made 374 appearances for the Blues, has been linked with a loan move in January.
