The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) said the city division police officers, five other police officers, and two other police officers(female) were among those killed.

A NAN source said that while division police officers, two female police officers, and four policemen officers were killed at the police station, one police officer was killed at the bank site.

Another victim, a civilian, died when he was hit by a homeless bullet.

It is said that armed robbers broke into the police station around 1 am and fired on all officers and people on duty.

The source told NAN that the police station had been completely destroyed by armed robbers who had released all prisoners.

The robbers then went to the first branch of the district bank, where they killed one of the policemen on duty and distributed money.

An eyewitness, Mr. Segun Thomas, told NAN that the robbery operation lasted almost an hour.

“The robbers came in two vehicles – a bus and a car, which also fled the city.
