Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus has been confirmed as the latest star who’ll be on the cover of EA Sports video game FIFA 17.

A massive 3.1 million votes were cast by fans across the world over a two week period to decide who would be the face of the latest edition of the popular football game, with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial of Manchester United, and the Borussia Dortmund attacker the four contenders, Goal writes.

And it was Reus, poised to assume captaincy of Borussia Dortmund next season, who emerged the winner.

The Germany star spoke of his delight at being the latest poster boy of the game.

“I’m honored to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA,” said Reus.

“Most of all I am humbled that the fans have chosen me, and I will strive to make them proud with my performance on the pitch.”

Reus missed out on a place on Die Mannschaft’s Euro 2016 squad after injury, but will look to bounce back to great heights with BVB next campaign as he’s set to reunite with former partner in crime Mario Gotze.
