Meet The Youngest Commissioner In Nigeria Sworn In By Gov. Obiano

Mark Okoye II, flanked by his wife, was moments ago sworn in as the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget and Development Partners, at the Executive Council Chamber of Anambra State.
With this, Mark becomes the youngest commissioner in Nigeria.
Mark is one of the numerous youth who make up over 55% of the political appointments made by the Willingly Working Willie.

A 30-year old young man named Mark Okoye has been appointed as Anambra state commissioner for economic planning and budget development.

Okoye has been working with Governor Obiano since the latter assumed office as the chief executive of Anambra state

 

A graduate of Washington University, Okoye’s appointment was confirmed by the Anambra state House of Assembly on Wednesday, June 15.

A graduate of Washington University, USA, he worked as an investment banking associate at Afrinvest West Africa for four years

Before his present appointment,  Okoye has been the special adviser to Governor Obiano on economic planning, budget and Investments since June 2015.

His responsibilities then include  operational and strategic oversight over Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), an agency where he served as the secretary.

He was a member of the Anambra State Economic Think-Tank also involved in the management of State Flood Disaster Recovery Coordinating Committee (SFDRCC).

Okoye got married earlier this year to Phillipa Osakwe, in an elaborate ceremony held in Ikoyi, Lagos that witnessed the presence of prominent Nigerians.Okoye got married to Phillpa earlier this year

Before his foray into government, Okoye worked at Afrinvest West Africa as an investment banking associate for four years.

Okoye has surpassed the record of Asuquo Ekpenyong, Cross river state commissioner of finance, who was also appointed commissioner last year at the age of 30.
