Minister Bagudu Congratulates New UN Resident Coordinator In Nigeria

The Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, CON, has congratulated Mr. Mohamed M. M. Fall on his appointment as the new United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nigeria.

During a visit to Minister Bagudu’s office in Abuja, Mr. Fall expressed his commitment to supporting Nigeria’s development initiatives through the UN system. Minister Bagudu welcomed Mr. Fall’s enthusiasm and pledged the government’s continued collaboration with the UN.

“We are committed to sustaining dialogue and collaboration with the UN as we work towards achieving our economic and development goals,” said Minister Bagudu.

Mr. Fall, a Senegalese national, has extensive experience in international development and humanitarian affairs. He previously served as the UN Resident Coordinator in Malawi and has held various leadership positions within the UN system.

The UN Resident Coordinator is the highest-ranking UN official in Nigeria and is responsible for coordinating the activities of all UN agencies, funds, and programs in the country. The UN system in Nigeria provides support to the government and people of Nigeria in a wide range of areas, including poverty reduction, health, education, gender equality, and environmental protection.
