The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali announced that the MNJTF is actively enhancing its surveillance capabilities to achieve its mandate. He made this statement during the graduation ceremony of the second batch training of drone pilots for troops in Sector 1, which took place in Ndjamena on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The graduation ceremony also featured the presentation of the donation of two long-range drones and a vehicle by the European Union through the Stablac Project of the COGINTA Non-governmental Organisation.

Gen Ali expressed gratitude for the partnerships formed with the European Union, emphasising the importance of collaboration in advancing the objectives of the MNJTF.

He reaffirms the dedication of the MNJTF to fulfilling its mandate, commending the collective effort of all sectors within the MNJTF to work together to enhance regional security.

It could be recalled that a similar donation of two drones and a utility vehicle was presented to Sector 2 Chad in July of this year.

The MNJTF has the mandate to create a safe and secure environment in the areas affected by the activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups. Facilitate the implementation of overall stabilisation programmes by Lake Chad Basin Commission member states and facilitate humanitarian operations.
