Nigerian Air Force Adds New Captain To Citation Sovereign 680 Operations
Behind every safe flight and successful airlift mission is a demanding process of training, evaluation and professional development. At 307 Executive Airlift Group (307 EAG), that process culminated in the qualification of the Group Operations Officer, Group Captain SB Isijola, as an aircraft captain on the Citation Sovereign 680, following the successful completion of his captaincy training.
The qualification, which involved over 230 flying hours on the platform, represents another step in the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) continued effort to develop highly skilled personnel and sustain the professional standards required for safe and effective air operations. The occasion was marked with the traditional aviation “Shower of Honour”, providing an opportunity to recognise the achievement and, more broadly, to highlight the dedication, discipline, teamwork and institutional investment that underpin the progression of NAF pilots to greater operational responsibility.
Speaking at the occasion, the Commander, 307 EAG, Air Commodore OA Oluwatayo, described the achievement as a reflection of the NAF’s culture of professional development and continuous capability building. He expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for his sustained support for capacity building, career progression and recognition of excellence. The newly qualified captain is expected to further strengthen 307 EAG’s capacity to provide safe, efficient and reliable executive airlift support in service to the nation.
