Nigerian Army Aviation Fuel Handlers Graduate From Specialized Training Course

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the operational capability and professionalism of personnel engaged in aviation logistics, the Nigerian Army Aviation Fuel Handling and Management (AFHM) Course 2/2026 culminated in a colourful graduation ceremony held on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna.

The three-month specialized course, which commenced on 16 April 2026, was designed to equip personnel of the Nigerian Army Aviation with contemporary knowledge and practical skills in aviation fuel handling and management. A total of 5 officers and 20 soldiers of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) successfully completed the intensive training programme.

The Commander, 71 Supply and Transport Brigade, Brigadier General B Yusuf, represented the Commander Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Major General ND Shagaya, at the graduation ceremony. The Commandant, Air Force Institute of Technology, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, who was represented by the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal O Ubadike, congratulated the graduands for successfully completing the course and commended them for their dedication, resilience and commitment throughout the training.

He charged the newly qualified personnel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, safety and accountability in the handling and management of aviation fuel. He urged them to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course towards improving the operational effectiveness, safety and sustainability of Nigerian Army Aviation operations. He further encouraged them to remain worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport by exhibiting exemplary conduct, professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty in all their future assignments.

The representative of the Commandant further noted that the successful conduct of the course reflects the enduring partnership and inter-service cooperation between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force in developing critical aviation logistics capabilities. He emphasized that such collaboration remains vital to strengthening operational readiness and enhancing the Nigerian Army’s capacity to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities in defence of the nation’s territorial integrity.

The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates to the successful graduands and awards to outstanding participants who distinguished themselves through exceptional academic performance and exemplary conduct during the course.
