
Nigerian Army School of Music Graduates Urged To Uphold Professionalism, Discipline and Operational Security
The Special Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer at the Combined Graduation Ceremony of the Nigerian Army School of Music (NASM), Brigadier General Usman Sanni has charged graduating personnel of the school to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, integrity and selfless service in the discharge of their duties.
The Reviewing Officer who is also the Commander Nigerian Army Central Vehicle Depot in Ojo Lagos gave the charge during the graduation ceremony for students of the Senior Band Management Officers Course 7, Military Band Intermediate Course 36, Technical Wing Intermediate Course and Corps Drum Intermediate Course 42 all of 2026 who were trained in various musical disciplines at the school.
He noted that the successful completion of the intensive training programmes demonstrated the commitment, resilience and dedication of the graduands, while emphasising that their training had equipped them with not only technical and musical skills but also core military values essential for effective service.
The Reviewing Officer described the NASM as a strategic institution that contributes to troop morale, esprit de corps, military diplomacy, ceremonial duties and positive civil-military relations through military music and regimental traditions.
The graduands were further urged to remain security-conscious and responsible in their use of digital technologies and social media, stressing the importance of strict adherence to the Nigerian Army Social Media Policy regulations on information management and operational security.
The Reviewing Officer also commended the Acting Director Nigerian Army Band, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Toriola and the Acting Commandant NASM, Lieutenant Colonel Raphael Nvene, the Instructors and Staff of NASM for their commitment to capacity development, institutional excellence and the continuous improvement of training facilities and instructional standards.
The ceremony which had in attendance Commanders, Commandant, Commanding Officers and Senior Officers from sister security agencies concluded with congratulations to the graduands and award winners, with a call for them to continue pursuing professional excellence and to uphold the cherished traditions and values of the Nigerian Army wherever they are deployed. There was also a symbolic tree planting ceremony by the Reviewing Officer.
